Amber Kay is a photographer, content creator, and social media manager based in RVA. She's photographed many genres over the years (from weddings to portraits to editorial/commercial) but absolutely fell in love with photographing teen girls and helping to build their self confidence through photography, By chance she found herself also photographing a few fashion bloggers & boutiques in Richmond where she met Taylor. Amber had been dreaming of putting together a fashion show featuring teen girls (of all sizes and shapes) as models to really prove to them that ALL GIRLS are SUPERMODELS. WEAR RVA was born out of that dream, a lot of hard work, a want to give back to the community, and teaming up with Taylor.
You can view more of Amber's work on her main website or seniors website below.
Taylor Pitera is a Richmond native, and former owner of e-commerce brand TAILOR. Since closing her clothing brand, she has turned to content creation, social media management, styling, and the occasional modeling. Through her brand, Taylor was introduced to Amber at a networking event. Within a half an hour of meeting each other Amber shared her dream of hosting a charity fashion show. Taylor instantly jumped at the idea to bring to life an event benefiting young women in our community, while doing what she loves.
Together the duo continues their passion of the annual WEAR RVA event and run their own Creative Agency - Curated Chaos. Curated Chaos is a full service agency, managing & creating compelling content for brands and businesses. They offer services such as - Social Media Management, Content Creation, Photography, Influencer / UGC Relations, Email Marketing, Event Planning & Activation, Full Service Marketing/ Brand/ CampaignShoots, Consulting, and more.
WEAR RVA was the brainchild of Amber Kay Reinink Pelletier who wanted to create a community based event involving high school girls, fashion, and charity. The idea was pitched and Taylor Pitera came on board immediately to take on the project. Together these two RVA Boss Ladies have led the way creating and planning WEAR RVA. They are delighted to bring this event to the community to help to empower girls through fashion and raise money for an amazing cause.
Since its inception, WEAR RVA has been dedicated to empowering Richmond-area high school girls through education. Over the years, the organization has proudly donated more than $30,000 in scholarship funds, supporting local graduating seniors as they pursue their dreams of higher education.
This year, WEAR RVA is embarking on an exciting new chapter, expanding its philanthropic mission in partnership with a remarkable cause. Stay tuned for the official announcement as WEAR RVA continues to make a meaningful impact on our community.
WEAR RVA is a Richmond-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young women, fostering body positivity, and strengthening our community. Through our signature annual event—a spectacular, full-production fashion show—we celebrate confidence, individuality, and self-expression by featuring local high school girls as our models.
Our mission goes beyond the runway. WEAR RVA ignites change by showing our teen models that fashion is for every body, empowering them to embrace their beauty inside and out. We cultivate an uplifting environment that champions women supporting women, rejecting the "mean girl" mentality in favor of camaraderie and encouragement.
Each spring, our high-energy fashion show spotlights models of all shapes and sizes wearing clothing from Richmond-area boutiques and designers, highlighting the vibrant creativity of our local community. To date, we’ve partnered with over 175 local businesses and brands, while providing a transformative experience for more than 250 teen models.
For many participants, WEAR RVA is a life-changing experience. Our teens come from diverse backgrounds, finding in WEAR RVA a support system that fosters lasting friendships, personal growth, and newfound confidence. It’s incredible to witness their transformation—from shy and uncertain at the first meeting to confidently twirling on the runway and radiating self-assurance by the finale.
As a non-profit, WEAR RVA relies on sponsorships to make our vision a reality. These partnerships not only sustain our event but also create a unique opportunity for families, businesses, and the community to come together in support of a meaningful cause.
In previous years, WEAR RVA has proudly donated over $30,000 in scholarship funds to support Richmond-area high school seniors. Now, as we embark on an exciting new chapter, we are evolving our philanthropic goals in partnership with a remarkable new cause. Stay tuned as we continue to empower, inspire, and uplift the next generation.
